Unfortunately, today the message we want to convey to you is that we are currently not the most competitive gas and electricity retailer in the market. We encourage you to do your market research to find the best possible plan to suit your needs and if you happen to find a better alternative to Discover Energy at this point, we understand your need to switch providers.

The Australian National Electricity Market and Domestic Gas Markets in 2022 are witnessing extreme and consistent high prices that have not been experienced for more than a decade. This is being driven by black coal, hydro and gas generators who are bidding electricity prices higher in response to internationally increased prices for coal and gas, which in turn are driven by the unprecedented events in Europe and the knock-on effects of COVID-19.

This impacts the entire industry and has meant that many small energy retailers, including ours, have been left with no choice but to increase household energy consumption rates accordingly.

This has been a very difficult decision to make but as always, our customers are our priority and we wanted to notify you as soon as possible to assist you in making the best choice moving forward. As an Australian business, we understand the financial pressures families are currently facing and we regret that our increased prices may add to this stress.

Moving forward, Discover Energy will continue to provide VPP services to customers with solar, battery and EV chargers, which is a focus of our business and one which we believe will thrive as more people start to notice that the best way to manage high prices caused by fossil fuel shortages is by installing your own renewable energy and storage devices.

We will also continue to support the installation of solar and batteries and the many community activities we are involved in via our partnership company, One Stop Warehouse, and look forward to making a positive difference where we can.
